If you’re a fan of the original Sweethearts Valentine’s Day candies with sayings like “Be Mine” on them, you’re out of luck this year.
The Spangler Candy Company bought NECCO, the company that made the famous wafer and Sweethearts candies and they won’t be ready to make 2018’s favorite Valentine’s candies until next year…hopefully. You can still find some online, but they were made before July of last year.
They will be coming back, but until then, you’ll have to settle for the hearts made by other companies. Sweethearts have been around since the 1860’s and I'm glad they’ll be back!
