Paris Jackson Has Entered A Treatment Facility

Paris Jackson is putting her career on pause and her mental health first.

According to PEOPLE, the 20-year-old actress and daughter of the late Michael Jackson admitted herself into a treatment facility on Tuesday (January 15) for the betterment of her "emotional health."

"After a busy year of work engagements that took her all over the globe, Paris decided that she needed to take some time off to reboot, realign and prioritize her physical and emotional health," sources close to Jackson told the publication.

They added: "She checked herself into a treatment facility to aid in her wellness plan and is looking forward to coming out of this revitalized and ready to tackle the exciting new projects that await her."

It’s a courageous step for Jackson who admitted to making three suicide attempts just four years prior in an interview with Rolling Stone in 2017. "I was crazy. I was actually crazy. I was going through a lot of, like teen, angst,” she divulged at the time. "And I was also dealing with my depression and my anxiety without any help. It was just self-hatred."

"Low self-esteem, thinking that I couldn’t do anything right, not thinking I was worthy of living anymore," she continued.

It was in the same interview that Jackson detailed her suicide attempts were linked to the trauma she experienced after being sexually assaulted by someone she described as a "complete stranger" at 14-years-old. The episode, paired with being cyberbullied, nearly drove her to take her own life.

The year 2018 proved equally devastating for the young star, who suffered the death of her grandfather, talent manager Joe Jackson, and also underwent a life-or-death operation to remove an abscess just months after.

We're wishing Paris the best as she goes through her treatment.
