Christina Grimme's legacy will be honored with a virtual fundraising show five years after her death.
As per Billboard, the late Voice contestant's friends and family will come together on June 8 to honor her in conjunction with the Christina Grimme Foundation. Among the acts set to take the "Concert For a Cause" stage include Tori Kelly, Rachel Platten, Audra McLaughlin and Jacquie Lee and YouTubers Sam Tsui, Tiffany Alvord, and Tyler Ward. While Kurt Schneider, Grimmie's producer, will join Tsui for a performance of "Just a Dream," tunes from The Similar and Stephen Rezza will also be featured during the show.
Not only will the set, which will be hosted by Hunter March of E! News' Nightly Pop, honor Grimmie, but it will also serve as a fundraiser to help families impacted by gun violence. "We're honored to see the amount of support we've gotten for this event from so many of the people Christina cherished, respected, and loved, and we're excited to bring this event to Team Grimmie and fans around the world," her brother Marcus said in a statement.
Grimme's "Concert For a Cause" will stream for free via the show's official website. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged and will benefit the Christina Grimmie Foundation. The organization aims at helping families rebuild their lives after the loss of a loved one due to gun violence.
As you know, Grimmie was fatally shot at her concert on June 10, 2016. The singer was opening up for Before You Exit's set in downtown Orlando in June. She was 22.
