Nick Jonas' latest career move is leaving him feeling a bit "intimidated."

The Jonas Brothers musician made his return to Broadway earlier this month portraying one half of the beloved two-person musical The Last Five Years, and he recently spoke to People about the difference in performing for theater lovers as opposed to his typical musical career.

"The thing for me is there are a lot of people who love this show, who have played these roles in different productions, their high school or college or whatever. And it's those folks who have done it that I feel most intimidated to do it for," he said.

Even though he may have some fears about taking on such a popular, well-known role, the "Jealous" singer said it helps to push himself as a performer.

"But I think that's the beauty of storytelling and being an artist and an actor, is that you get to take big risks and put yourself out there. And I love it," he said. "As intimidating as it might feel sometimes, I think it's a really gratifying experience to get out and really put yourself out there and take big swings and see what happens."

Because Jonas is starring in a Broadway show, he has been spending more time in New York City. He recently explained how his stint in the Big Apple is affecting his family and how he's been enjoying "wonderful" family time with his daughter.
