The Reason Why Alessia Cara Wrote This Song For Her Friend

Alessia Cara stopped by Elvis Duran and the Morning Show to promote her new single "Trust My Lonely," treating Elvis Duran listeners to a soulful rendition of "I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas."

The Grammy-award winning artist opened up to Elvis Duran about the true meaning of her song, "Out Of Love." Turns out it's not about Alessia's love life. She wrote it at the request of a friend.

"This is the first song that I've ever written that is not from my own perspective. I wrote it about a friend of mine, and for a friend of mine, who was going through a break-up."

She later continued that she wrote it only 15 mins. The song just came together in a crazy, cosmic way.
