I'm not a new year's resolution type of gal. I think any day is a good day for a fresh start, and placing big expectations on new year's resolutions just seems like you're setting yourself up for failure. However, I recently decided that this was a small, achievable goal that I need to commit myself to in 2020.
Every day, I want to make a list of at least 5-10 reasons why I am awesome.
I'm my own worst critic, which is true for a lot of us, but I'm pretty bad to myself. It's easy to forget how important it is to have a good relationship with your self, because that's the one person you're truly stuck with forever. It's much easier to do well in life when you're feeling good about getting out of bed in the morning, and what better way to feel empowered than to remind yourself of all the reasons you're amazing every day.
So whether it's my hair or my skill with a crochet hook, I'm choosing this year to focus on the things that make me great. I want to encourage you do do the same, because in order to live a full life, we have to believe that we deserve it. In order to thrive at the things we're good at, we have to go into them remembering that we are, in fact, good at them. Life is short and as far as we know, we only get one. I want to spend it enjoying the person I got to be.
