Astronauts Are Now Reading To Kids From Space

We all know it's important to read to your kids as they're growing up - but parents often talk about how hard it is to get their kids to focus on reading.

So what is the current solution? Well how about taking reading into outer space?

Yep! You can now get astronauts, in space, to read to your kids from space thanks to the "Story Time From Space." The program, which is an initiative by the non-profit Global Space Education Foundation, allows kids to get books about space and science read to them directly from the astronauts in space at the time!

The way it all works? The group selects books "that can be read in about 15 minutes," and focus on some aspect of science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM). Then, the books are literally sent into space to the International Space Station (ISS) so the astronauts can film themselves reading them, and basically creating the COOLEST bed time story experience ever.

I know I would have found this wayyyy cooler than my parents or my siblings reading me a story when I was a kid. I mean, it's astronauts! From space!

To access the videos, you can go to the Story Time From Space website, where there are already a dozen titles to choose from when you're having a hard time getting the little one down for bed time!

There is even one book read in Japanese  — Max Goes To The International Space Station — by astronaut and engineer Koichi Wakata. Wakata has a second book read in English, The Wizard Who Saved The World, and all the other titles are read in English by British astronaut Tim Peake, and American astronauts Mike Hopkins, Tim Kopra, Joseph Acaba, Mark Vande Hei, and Kate Rubins.

Seriously, if you're not on board with this yet, I don't know what else you're waiting for!
