Hear The Story Behind How Tom Brady Proposed To Gisele BĂŒndchen

Pretty much any time either Tom Brady or Gisele BĂŒndchen come up in conversation, someone will talk about how cute they are.

And they are! I mean, they're a wildly successful football player and a supermodel, how could they not be cute.

But what makes them ever cuter are moments like the one above where Tom sported a "I Heart Gisele" shirt in celebration of "dia dos namorados"... and ones like their proposal story which will make you say "awww."

In a recent interview with Vogue for their "73 Questions" series, Gisele admitted that Tom actually made up a big lie about her apartment flooding just ahead of proposing to her back in 2009.

In the video, Gisele recalls: "When he proposed to me, he made up this whole story how my apartment was flooding and I ran over there to try to fix the situation... When I got there, the whole apartment had candles and rose petals everywhere and then he went down on his knees to propose."

But she didn't want him to get down on his knees for a very specific reason!

"I'm like, 'Get up!' 'cause he just had surgery and had three staph infections... I'm like, 'What are you doing?' He's like, 'I gotta go on my knees.' I'm like, 'No, no, no, get up, please!' And here we are."

Look, Gisele was all about him proposing, but she did NOT need him to further injure himself in the process.

The video also features their daughter Vivian who is 5, but their son Benjamin, who is 8, must not have been running around the house that day.

Throughout the video, Gisele also reveals what makes she and Tom a great match, one of the things being that they teach each other things. Gisele taught Tom to recycle and he taught her to say "no" when it's necessary.

Gisele covers the July 2018 issue of Vogue.
