Taylor Swift Fans Held Up $1 Bills In Her Honor Yesterday For This Reason

Taylor Swift has kept her personal life very private over the last few years - ever since her personal life seemed to become much more of the conversation than any of her professional work.

But last night while playing a show on her massive reputation tour in Tampa, Florida, Taylor chose to address the year anniversary of her winning the sexual assault case where she was granted a symbolic $1 upon her victory.

If you recall, the case took place last August in Denver, Colorado, where Taylor testified against radio DJ David Mueller in an assault and battery countersuit.

Taylor talked, for the first time not in an organized interview, about the case on stage last night - and in her honor, fans around the world raised up $1 bills.

While at the piano during her set, Taylor said:

"This exact day a year ago, I was not playing a sold-out stadium in Tampa. I was in a courtroom in Denver, Colorado... and this day a year ago was the day that the jury decided in my favor and said that they believed me."

Of course her remarks about the case and about her victory were met with loud applause from her fans in attendance.

She also shared:

"I just wanted to say I'm sorry to anyone who ever wasn't believed because I don't know what turn my life would have taken if people didn't believe me when I said that something had happened to me... we have so, so, so much further to go, and I'm so grateful to you guys for being there for me during what was a really, really horrible part of my life."

Taylor didn't stop there, either, she got choked up when telling the crowd how much it means to her that fans in the meet and greets, and all over the world, trust her with talking about the difficult times in their lives.

"You guys have seen me go through so many ups and downs in my life just due to the public nature of the way my life is and I wanted to say that I'm so happy to see you and to have you and to know you through the ups and the downs of my life, so thank you for everything."

She wrapped it up by apologizing for getting emotional and explained that she just hasn't talked about this case much.

Fans in the audience held up their dollar bills, and fans on Twitter shared their "thank yous" and stories with Taylor as well.
