It's been a couple of months since Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom got engaged on Valentine's Day (and Katy showed off the gorgeous ring on Instagram!!!).
While we had some information about how the proposal went down, Katy just opened up with waaaay more details of the big night. And you're going to want to hear this entire story.
It all begins with the fact that Katy had to work on Valentine's Day (shooting America Idol here in Los Angeles!) so she met Orlando at the place they were going to have dinner, rather than arriving together.
And when she showed up and saw him, she actually knew something was going on... all because he was clean shaven and not wearing tennis shoes. Ha!
She spoke with radio show Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp about the entire, magical night:
"It was Valentine's Day, and I had to work that day. I just remember meeting him at dinner at this place, this Italian restaurant because, when I get a pass, I just want to just like stuff my face with pasta. So, I get there and he's clean-shaven, he's not wearing tennis shoes. I'm like, 'Ah s**t, something is going down."
When asked if she knew what that something going down, she continued:
"He was letting me...we were ordering everything, and I’m like, who is this person? He must have been so nervous—actually he was cause he was going like this," and then she imitates heavy breathing.
She THEN continued, and talked about getting on the helicopter: " I got on a helicopter, and then he asked me to marry him. And then we landed on this building, and went downstairs and my family and friends were there and like the most flowers…the most flowers you've ever seen. It's like when Kanye does that for Kim, you're like, ‘Oh my god!' And I was like, ‘Oh my god!' Anyways, it’s great, he's great. I love him very much."
Sounds like the most amazing proposal ever?? Tons of Italian food, a helicopter ride, all her friends and family and Kanye-level flowers? No biggie.
