It's not every morning that I'm craving BBQ before 9am. But here we are. I'm really in the need of some BBQ... asap.
And it's all because of our Hometown Hustler of the day: Brother's Keeper BBQ!!
Brother's Keeper BBQ describes themselves a Long Beach, CA based "curator of smoked meats." They are a team led by two brothers, Mo Stewart and Brandon McIntos, who wanted to bring the "time tested traditions of barbecue" to the masses. And boyyyy have they.
The brothers have been put on lists of the best BBQ in Long Beach since their founding in 2018, and you know just by taking one look at their Instagram that they are very serious about their craft: smoking meats.
So what encouraged the brothers to start the business - other than the desire to bring incredible BBQ to "the masses"?
Mo had been in the restaurant business for over 10 years and realized that his work life balance was nonexistent. While expecting his first baby, he decided that something needed to change in order to be present and still provide for his growing family.
Mo had to tap into his savings in order to start Brother’s Keeper with his best friend Brandon. Brandon currently still works his full-time job and balances the demands of Brother’s Keeper BBQ.
Their next pop up will be THIS WEEKEND!!
The brothers are bringing their BBQ to Trademark Brewing for a pop up starting at 1pm. If you have a chance, go check them out at 233 East Anaheim Street in Long Beach.
If you go, can you try the crispy smoked chicken wings for me? And maybe the honey butter biscuits and the Mexican street corn? In fact.. can you just try it all and send me photos? I can't make it out this time but I HAVE to know how good it all is!!
