The East Idaho News is spreading Christmas cheer with the help of a Secret Santa who’s giving away $25,000 over the holidays. Recently, a father of seven who lost his wife unexpectedly this summer was the lucky recipient of the generosity and was shocked to get a surprise $10,000 early Christmas gift from the Secret Santa.
Dakota Nelson is still picking up the pieces from his wife Ream’ssudden death in September. The 38-year-old passed suddenly, leaving Dakota to raise their seven children, ranging in age from one to 16. He’s been working three part-time jobs and raising the kiddos alone, all while adjusting to life as a widower, so it’s been a challenge.
But the early Christmas present of $10,000 in gift cards and a check helped lift his spirits. The dad was moved to tears by the kindness of the stranger and how much it’ll help his family this holiday.
